Get the Most Out of Your Community

Updated: Jan 25

We have built this learning community in order to help our members get sensible and meaningful advice on a variety of topics to help us all improve our understanding of UK life and culture.

We would love to see lively discussions where we support each other and provide advice, hints and tips to our fellow members to help them solve their problems.

We aim to use the community discussions to help us identify shared learning needs. From these we will work with our MoneyMatiX team, our partners and your community steering group to create and publish learning materials to all of our benefits.

But, we can't do this without you - our community members. You are the heart, the soul and the driving force of your shared learning. In order to get the most out of your learning community we ask you to consider the following tips.

"The best way to predict the future is to create it."

Tip #1 - Engage

The more you put in the more you will get out of your community - this is particularly true for our MoneyMatiX Community! We are relying on each other to post, discuss, suggest, vote and contribute so we can give each other the best possible support and advice.

Tip #2 - Contribute

Don't be shy about posting questions into the forums, participating in groups or providing answers to questions if you can help. Remember, if you don't ask you'll never know - and there's no such thing as a "stupid question".

We will always get you an answer to your question even if that means we need to contact partners and perform additional research on your behalf. It may take us some time but we will always respond to your needs.

At MoneyMatiX we will regularly review questions posed within the community forums and use these to help identify what learning materials we can develop for the community. The more the community is used - the more information we can see about shared learning needs.

Tip #3 - Comment

Support your fellow members or provide constructive suggestions if appropriate. If you like a post then tell that person - not only will it help the community identify great content it will make them feel good too.

If you disagree, say why and suggest an alternative answer. We all have different experiences and different knowledge so it is never a problem to disagree. Chances are that a healthy debate on a topic will improve everyone's understanding.

Tip #4 - Vote

If you don't have time to type in a comment then vote - again, the more votes on a post (either for or against) will help us identify the content we can provide to everyone so we can all benefit.

Tip #5 - Follow

Choose to follow specific members to see whenever they post new information or choose to follow specific forum categories. This ensures you get automatic notifications and will never miss a post.

Tip #6 - Suggest

And if you can't find the information you're looking for - either in a forum, group or blog then let us know. Make suggestions as to what content you're looking for and the MoneyMatiX team can help by generating new discussions and providing new learning content.

Use the suggestions forum as required to recommend changes to the community or new materials as required.

Create our future together

We're in this together - we all joined this community to learn and help each other. Let's help each other to create our desired future.

"The more you put in the more you get out..."
